Mmm, Enantiomers

Today's molecular modelling lecture is on the chemistry of odors. We're actually inhaling stuff here—not just wafting, but uncorking flasks and breathing in deep to get a whiff of molecules that smell quite different from their mirror images. Good thing I smelled the peppermint one second; the first one was foul.

I have the Evangelion theme running through my head. Luckily it's good, unlike the anime and DDR music in my head last week. ("Dino Dinosaur", anyone?) I need to get the words straight, though. Right now I've got "Zankoku na tenshi no yoni...line... aoi something something... random Japanese-sounding syllables...long word starting with H...anata!" And I'm feeling kind of silly knowing only bits of it after 14 episodes. I guess by the time I get through the second half of the series I'll have it down.
