Why Is It

...that guys with Scottish accents sound sexy no matter how ugly they are? Now, I'm not one to ogle Sean Connery -- post-Entrapment, the man has sounded like he's slobbering on a mouthful of marbles. But case in point: last night, I went with Jake and Will to see Alien vs. Predator. One of the main characters is played by Ewen Bremmer, who you might remember as Spud in Trainspotting, Mullet in Snatch, or... I dunno, Archie The Scotsman With A Tick in Naked. Point being, he's not so much attractive. But the first scene in which he appears in AVP, you hear his voice before he's on screen. And so I was sitting there thinking "Oooh. Nevermind the alien fightin', who is this sexy gu-- aaaaaah! my eyes!"
