I'd Had It.

Bad enough that AIM was downloading and playing Polar Express trailers at random intervals, but yesterday it downloaded new software so as to be able to show me even more ads, and uninstalling the buggers only caused it to reinstall as soon as I logged in again. I considered Trillian. I considered buying a small program that would block the adverts and keep AIM from transacting its own business whenever it saw fit. And then I realized something... I could just go back to version 4.8. For anyone else who couldn't care less about video conferencing, notifications, or other fancy features, I highly recommend it.
